Chinese embassy barred 90 Pakistani bride visas

Islamabad : Among the reports of Pakistani girls being smuggled into China by fake marriage, the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad has barred 90 Pakistani bride visas.

 In China, Deputy Chief of Mission of China, Lijiang Zhao said on Tuesday that 140 applicants of Chinese citizens get this year, who want a visa for their Pakistani bride. According to the reports, 50 applications of visa were granted while the remaining requests were not accepted. The Embassy had received 142 such applications in 2018.

The Pakistani government has recently ordered the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take action against gangs involved in smuggling Pakistani girls to trafficking in China.

The Chinese diplomat said, “The officials became alarmed by the sudden increase in the number of weddings occurring among the citizens of both countries, and we contacted our Pakistani counterparts who have started investigating the matter.”
